Viva Las Vegas!

Sometimes you just need a quick getaway with your girls.  There are plenty of places in the world to go but Las Vegas holds a special place in my heart.  It was the first trip Stephanie and I took together and it was our first time in Vegas. That trip will always be unforgettable.  The vibes were positive and the giggles were plentiful If there was a perfect trip it was that one.  We were so excited and just took it for the adventure it was.

I've been back to Vegas two more times and each time, I've had some very happy memories and a good story to tell. Some that I of course can't tell you as what happens in Vegas stays there but I can share some tips to make it the best trip it can be. My personal opinion is that you only really need to be in Vegas for three days. Four days max.

Focus:

Vegas can be very overwhelming. There is so much to do; the possibilities are endless. So figure out what you'd like to do beforehand: are you going for a birthday, bachelorette, girls/chill trip.  I feel like each of these occasions can have a very different itinerary.

Everything is available out there, magic shows, strip shows, residencies (see a show!), spas, day parties, night parties, Red Rock Canyon hiking, zip lining, indoor skydiving, gun ranges, trapeze classes, race car driving, anything you could possibly want, so I would say do a little research as to what you want to do.

Drink longer for cheaper:

Nips are allowed on the plane, stock up and start early!

When it comes to alcohol, buy bottles for your hotel room.  The Walgreens' out there sell booze. There's also a liquor store nestled near the Westin that is super cheap as well.  Obviously, booze is marked up on the strip so I would suggest  get your alcohol at Walgreens along with mixers and have your own bar in your hotel room.  You'll thank me.  Now of course, it's Vegas, so by all means, get the over-sized, cups at Fat Tuesdays and walk the streets with your open containers.  Keep those cups and refill them each time you visit your room.

When it comes to food.  Try a buffet and a celebrity restaurant, Giada's was incredible! However, don't you dare sleep on Denny's!  We had huge breakfasts every day which kept us going.  I never spent more than 13 bucks for pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, hash-browns, coffee and juice.  The Denny's on the north side of the strip knows what it's doing! They HOOK YOU UP! and your pocket will thank you as well.

Don't Over-Pack:

Hike a Canyon.

This goes for your suitcase and your itinerary. You need to curate your wardrobe so that every outfit makes you feel poppin!  Sometimes, I do this dumb thing where I'll pack a look that's OK, for when "I want to be casual" or a look that requires 3 hours of prep.  Not here.  If you go to Vegas in the summer, you'll want to wear as little as possible.  Also leave the heels at home.  I would say bring one pair for the pictures then rock some gladiator sandals or other cute flats.  Las Vegas is NOT a walking town.  Don't play yourself.  Please.  The amount of women who I see give up and walk the streets barefoot is incredible.  Don't do this to yourself.  Now of course, if you can handle your heels all night long, do you boo but me, I need flats and my night is much longer in them.

Also, don't pack everything into your itinerary.  Vegas ain't going anywhere, so you can return. Give yourself time to enjoy the surroundings.  Walk around, stop into the different casinos and explore.  There's nothing worse than partying all night and then having to get up early for an excursion.  Give yourself time.  You'll want to marinate in the pool (so you don't expire), enjoy drinks at different bars,  just go at your own pace. It gets HOT.  It was around 112 degrees and that wasn't the heat wave.  There is no rushing in Vegas.  You need to give yourself time to get to wherever you're going.  You may be able to see the next destination from your window and it looks like it's next door.  But next door is actually 20 minutes away.

See A Show:

Las Vegas is a quintessential SHOW Town!  There's a show on the Strip for whatever your heart desires: magic, acrobats, live symphonies, hypnosis, skin, songs, Legends, zombies, animals, sometimes maybe all together.  I saw my first Cirque du Soleil show this time around and it was astounding.  I'm so glad I took the time to go.  It was simply dazzling.  I won't tell you too much about it because you simply have to see it with your own eyes.  I saw the O show and I want to go back to the the MJ one, I bet its going to be out of this world.  The girls and I hit up a male strip show, go see Aussie Heat, Patrick smells amazing, lol

We also saw the Backstreet Boys in residency at Planet Hollywood (my main reason for going this time).  Also side note:  let's give Planet Hollywood a slow cap for cornering the market with Britney Spears, J.lo, Backstreet and Pitbull all sharing the same stage throughout the year.

I feel like Vegas get the wrap of only being about Casinos and Strippers.  Those are very prevalent but you can have a "wholesome" experience if you desired it.  Or you could wake up with a tiger in your room ala Hangover.   You can really make it whatever you want it to be.

I've already said to much as you know Sin City take a vow of silence on what really goes on. Check it out for yourself.
