Gratitude, Gratitude, Gratitude!

This year has flown by! Here we are again in the last quarter of the year which holds all the best holidays: my birthday, mom's birthday, the besite's birthday, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years!  This list is bias of course, but this is the time of year when you start to take stock of what's happened and start thinking about what you want for the following year, or what changes you'd like to make from this year.

Last year, I gave some tips on how to make sure you got the the holiday with your mind in tact.  You can check out those Thanksgiving tips here

Fill up them plates with love, baby.

Fill up them plates with love, baby.

But today, as we fill our plates with the tangible evidence of our adundance; we're supposed to give thanks for all we have and show gratitude for what we may not have quite yet, but we're on our way to receiving.   As I stroke my food baby, there are a lot of things I'm grateful for this year. This mild indigestion being one of them --hahahahouchhelpmeahahahahha

So I'm just going to list some things that have me giving gratitude this year:

Visiting my girl Jesslyn in Australia.  She helped me fulfill my dream of celebrating the New Year in summer weather.

Falling outs with people who were once close to me.  I know this one may be odd, but I'm learning to trust my feelings and understanding that sometimes it's best to just cut your losses.

Girl's Trip with my mom -- Getting tipsy and giggly with my mom was a lot more fun than I expected and I'm so happy we did it.

My job and the check that clears every pay period.  It can be frustrating but I'm thankful for it.

Capezio Dance tights that give me bawwdy!

Being able to talk my siblings like grown folks.  The shade, the jokes, the advice, all of it.

The Braid Out hairstyle.  It has been my saving grace through my hair transition! (more on that soon) Braid outs for everyone!!

Meeting new people who helped me get mixy this summer.  I put myself out there and got social.

Friends who let me spiral out of control knowing full well that I just need them to listen to me and my extraness and then I'll reign myself in.

BodyRoll classes!! for being my gateway to getting my life.  Seriously! You guys should join me, it will change your life.

Uber Ride passes were clutch this year.

I'm thankful for the opportunities that simply being born in the right place afforded me.

But being able to visit other countries and seeing other cultures, with the safety net of being able to return home.

My knees hurt, but I'm grateful I have them.

I'm thankful for the times when you expect a very small dinner but the guest list triples within hours and though it can be a little stressful, everyone gets fed and there's a moment of joy in the house. Also, there was tons of wine.

Warm socks and satin bonnets.

I am grateful I am a POC.  I'm so appreciative of those who came before me, those who worked till their hands bled to make sure I was a possibility.

I'm grateful for you guys.

I'm just really grateful to be right where I am right now.  Physically, emotionally, financially, spiritually, fuckboyfree

I hope your day was filled with food, drink, love and peace.
