Halloween Havoc

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I love to dress up on the regular but now we get a night to REALLY get crazy and we get a little candy for our efforts? I'm in!

I'm usually a D.I.Y kind of girl when it comes to costumes.  They've gotten really expensive and I don't want to spend upwards to a hundred dollars on a costume that will get worn once.  I simply can't justify it so if I can pull something together with minimal expenditure; that is my preference.  Listen, one year I bought a costume and it cost me about 90 bucks, it was Little Red Riding Hood.  You best believe that costume got used 4 years in a row! It could be tied into this delicious high slit number and came with a surprisingly good cape, so I was Little Red Riding Hood, a Vampire, Dead Little Red and a Vampire again.....I'm not playing these money games with y'all; each year was a hit and I had a marvelous time.  I made those $90 an investment!

So this year, I wanted to be Storm from the X-men.  But not Storm from the movies. I wanted to be Storm from the 90's animated series.  I was willing to put money into this because I would wear it to Comic-Con and the like.  My future husband would have to be cool with being Black Panther forever but whatever that's besides the point.  However, to my dismay, I couldn't find a costume that would do this icon justice.  So unlike, FOX and their films, (let me not even get started) I decided to leave it alone until I had the resources to do this costume correctly.

QWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEENNN!!!!

QWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEENNN!!!!

Aside from Storm, I've wanted to be a Ringmaster and this was the year to make it happen.  Again, the costume industry is booming with as much money as their asking for.  Some costumes were about $70-80 but didn't even include a hat or just looked cheap for those prices.  Amazon to the rescue!  My whole costume cost me $50 bucks and it consists of item I can (and will!) use on their own. When you take artistic liberties and put your own spin on your costume be ready for random guesses.  This year I got a can can girl and Beyonce. I ain't mad!  How was your halloween?  Are you a creature of habit? or a ghastly ghoul.  Do you go scary or sexy?

Until next year goblins!!
