One thing I love to see is a woman doing her thing! I don't know what it is but just seeing a woman follow her passion and live her life to the fullest is something that brings me such joy.
It excites me and inspires me to work a little harder at what I love so I can be just as awesome as them. I recently discovered Merrll "Moyl" Cledara's work and became quite smitten with it.
You can really see her background in fine arts and painting in her digital work. She took her innate talent (because let's face it, some people were just born able to draw, I am not one of them) and combined it with what the industry calls for nowadays -- Digitry! OK, that't not a word, but you know what I mean!
Just look at this (click to see the progression):
From their inception, the detail on these nesting dolls is unreal. I geek out when I see people work with their hands and create art as easily as it is for me to breathe. So cool!
Moyl is definitely a designer to watch for. She's out here designing for Girl Scouts of America, FashionTimesCo and Swapbook. She is taking no prisoners when it comes to design and that is why I award her the "Designer to Watch" award on SquarewithCurves because here, we celebrate women who are funny, hardworking, talented and stop at nothing to make it work.
Congrats Moyl! Can't wait to see what you create next!
P.S. Follow her on the gram so you can see all the face she is serving!!! WERK! I heart her! (moylc)
