I think some people put a lot of pressure on themselves when it comes to this day. It's supposed to be the Day of Love for the year, the one day you have to throw everything and the kitchen sink at the person you love to prove to them that TODAY of all days, is their day. It's the day to say "I Love You". That's all well and good for those people in those types of relationships. That doesn't mean you've failed if you don't have this...today.
If you're single, relax. Tomorrow is Feb. 15th. You know what that means? Nothing. It's just the next day. Let the lovers have their day and you will have every other one. There will be nights when you're out burning the city down and those in relationships will want what you have. It's a constant pendulum - people want what they don't have (at times).
I don't have one Valentine in particular this year. It's ok -- I've been in a relationship on V-Day and have been single on V-Day, it's always been a good day in either case. It's about -15 degrees here in NYC today, so if you have a cuddle buddy...Activate them - immediately.
If you're solo, it's definitely Netflix and Chill time. Catch up on what you've been meaning to get to (The Following has wifed me up) because this day is a good day, if you realize , in the grand scheme of things...all the chocolate will be on sale tomorrow.
Don't propose on Valentine's Day. I'm serious, don't do it.
